Due to a prolonged delay at March 18th's State Championship at UW River Falls due to tech issues, the Gauntlet for Division Champions had to be rescheduled.
The first Gauntlet match is featured on this stream, which is Deerfield (D5 Champ) vs. WCA (D4 Champ).
One on end of the stick you have Deerfield, who is Division 5's finest team. After going undefeated during the regular season, the Demons were able to punch their ticket to State for the second consecutive year after earning a first round bye and defeated Little Wolf in the Quarterfinals After making it to the main stage at River Falls last Saturday, Deerfield ran the gauntlet (no pun intended) against both Williams Bay in the Semis and Pacelli in the D5 Grand Final The Demons were able to pull out a clean sweep on both opponents to win championship gold!
On the other end of the stick, you have Wisconsin Connections Academy. A team that fought their hearts out to earn a spot at State after a disappointing ending suffered at the hands of the REAL School last spring. After going 7-1 and earning a first round bye in the playoffs, WCA proceeded to beat Marshall, Valders, and Barron in a 7 game series that was spectacular to finally hoist gold and win Division 4!
Now, two newly crowned champions face off in a best of 7 series to determine which team will be one step closer to being acknowledged as undisputed Winter 2023 Rocket League champions. The winner will move on to play against Fox Valley, the Division 3 Champion. Will Deerfield continue to sweep their competition, or will Wisconsin Connections find a way to end Deerfield?
